DigiTV from Nebula Electronics

Nebula Electronics approached Vertex with engineering drawings for its innovative new product , Digitv, that enables a laptop or desktop computer user to view digital television on their their PCs.

Vertex was called upon to mould the plastic casing and infra-red lens that make up the shell of the Digitv unit.  The original design would have required very complicated moulding tools and while not impossible to make, Vertex suggested changes that would simplify the tool construction and make the casing and lens easier and less expensive to manufacture.  The improved design reduced the total amount of plastic needed in each component, increased the ease of assembly of the final product and saved Nebula money on both part cost and mould tool construction.
